Building Trac in CF, via ColdFusionWeekly

Matt and Peter, of ColdFusion Weekly provided coverage of the SVN browser that comes with cfdiff in version 1.24 of their weekly podcast. In it, they asserted that a usable SVN browser was one component of Trac, and suggested that someone take on the task of building it in CF. I would posit that while it’s not a single package, you could recreate Trac with existing CF components:

Trac ColdFusion Component
SVN Browsercfdiff
Bug TrackerLighthouse Pro
?Galleon Forums
?BlogFusion or BlogCFC

Short version: The CF community needs to bow down before the Open Source Hero that is Ray Camden.

So … all of you poor schmoes stuck in a cave, churning out CF source, flinching under the whip of your managerial overlord … there’s an opportunity here to break free. You have a solid business plan in front of you — integrate all of these Open Source tools into one package. You could even sell it, providing you wade through the differing licenses and make your own code Open Source. The tools are there. Take them and run.
