Running Goals

I’ve committed to do the Jacksonville 15km Gate River Run this March.For the metric-challenged, 15 km is 9.3 mi. And, just because jogging 9.3 mi alongside 17,000 other people isn’t crazy enough, there’s a twist: the last mile is done over the Hart Bridge. If you’ve never had the experience of driving over the bridge, check out this picture on Wikipedia, which shows the wicked incline.

I must be out of my mind.

But … I’m committed. To that end, I’ve set up goals with Nike+ (which you can see on my website) and a spreadsheet for my training program. Hopefully, knowing that I’m tracking my progress online will be a nice boost of motivation to keep on track. My first goal is a total of 76 mi by the end of this month.
